What makes you the final authority on the "wrong god". This is a slippery slope. The Islamic murderers claim their god is the only right one and all else are false. Hindusim has never said that their god is the right one and is by far the most accepting and tolerant religion in the world. I am a Hindu that is extremely pro-Christian and am what I call a non-Christian Christian. My one problem is monotheism, how can you say that all other people's path to god is false and all other gods are wrong. Hindus in the USA are the most peaceful, law abiding immigrant community you could ever find, a mirror image of Muslims, why put down our religious faith when we are the most pro-American non Christian religious community there is.

The "Jesus Alone" crowd can be just as bone-headed as the Islamist, though they have given up the violent part a while ago.

I respectively suggest you lighten up a little.

I read the exremely pithy "wrong god" comment not as a dig or comment about the goodness of Hindu beliefs, but rather as a sarcastic comment about the close-mindedness of the county commissioners. IE: that this was all just B.S. and the real issue was "wrong god" and if they had been trying to build a Baptist Church the pews would be going in by now.

That's how I interepreted that comment. Are you a native American English speaker? (not intended as a put down - I speak only Spanish and miss all jokes, sarcasm and have ordered "balls" in a TJ cantina when I wanted eggs to the howls of those around me.)

If you're a mirror image of muslims, then we have a problem.

India has two million gods, and worships them all. In religion all other countries are paupers; India is the only millionaire.

The area I live in (Northern New Jersey) has a large Indian community and most are Hindus. I have never once been offended in any way, shape or form by Hindus. Hindus are kind, peaceful, law abiding people who respect other's beliefs. They are a model immigrant community and excellent neighbors. You will never see a mob of Hindu gangbangers or thugs, their parents teach them to respect others, to seek higher education, to work hard and make a good life for themselves, is that not the kind of people we should welcome with open arms?

BTW- I'm not a member of any religion. Yes, there are conservative Republican agnostics. I have no beef with anyone who espouses faith in any sane religion.

I do not consider Islamic fundamentalists to be sane, rational people.

Hindusim has never said that their god is the right one and is by far the most accepting and tolerant religion in the world.

The problem I see with Hinduism is the belief in reincarnation to a certain caste as a consequence of your previous life. If you strive to live a good life now, in the next life you will be reincarnated to a higher station in life -- perhaps as a very rich person. If you live a life where you do bad or evil things then in the next life you might be reincarnated a poor beggar man with a disease. This leads to loss of compassion, as there is no reason to feel sorry for the poor diseased beggar man as he is just getting payback for his previous bad life. And one should show respect and praise for the rich and indolent as they are receiving their reward for a previous great life. One should never question the rich and not help the poor.

Christianity is just the opposite. It is to redeem the bad, change their lives, forget the past and get them to move on in a better life doing good in the here and now. Each person starts their life anew and is responsible for what they do in this life.
