Anyway, I never feared the spanking as a child. It was the talk afterward that I preferred to avoid. You were lucky. It was the yelling I hated. My father was always very measured when applying the belt but not so with his voice!

My father didn't have to yell. Oh no.
His rhetoric was razor sharp as it was, it didn't need any extra wind or volume.
