Jordan Condemns Operation Summer Rains 00:30 Jun 30, '06 / 4 Tammuz 5766
(IsraelNN.com) Jordan has condemned the IDF incursion into Gaza. Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Juda said that The Israeli government imposes collective punishment against an entire nation, in addition to the wide-scale arrests in the Palestinian territories, according to Jordanian news agency Petra.
Juda said Israels actions were totally unjustified, in what he called its determination to continue its broad aggressive acts against the Palestinian citizens with no right or justified reason.
They were given a chance. Israel told them to return the boys unharmed, and they made a choice, now they suffer. I hope that Israel cuts the head off this serpent.
Not yet. If that type of punishment ever happens, it'll be unmistakable.
".....in addition to the wide-scale arrests in the Palestinian territories,
Yeah, the arrest of terrorists. ......something much of the Islamic world has big problems with, evidently.
The title almost made me ping Al Gore (summer rains = global cooling)
What nation are they referring to? I'm not aware of one?
You cannot have it both ways. They chose a military target and made an assault. Now they have a demonstrative military response. It is completely clear that the status quo must change now. The only question is whether Israel will finally do it. The answer is to annex the land, disallow any form of citizenship for the residents and make violent war with those who resist.
It could have been done with little bloodshed in 1967. Now it will be bloodier for all.
Yeah, like the population of Jordan suddenly swelling by 1.4 million as the Israelis frog-march the whole lot of them on the Heshemite Kingdom's doorstep.
The mortars fell among them like gentle summer rain.
Let me get this straight. If they return the soldier they will get their leaders back and all is forgiven??? What about the two that were killed in the attack? Another loss that Israel needs to eat? This is madness...state sponsored killing and hostage taking.
I hope not, but who the hell knows? (Personally, I'd put a bullet in each of their heads). They were taken for several reasons, most likely: To send a message that they can be grabbed at will, to gain intel (through interrogations), to attempt to get the soldier back, as a political play by Olmert to shore up support at home, etc.
And tanks purred contentedly in the shade of the IAF...
What's up with the delay? Why haven't Israel continued their military operations in Gaza?

This is an unspoken virtue of introducing democracy into the Muslim world. Bush tends to focus on the hopeful outcome of Muslims coming to favor Western-style freedoms and thereby joining the civilized world.
Clauswitz taught us that in the long run total war is more merciful, even to the losers. On the other hand total war is not policitally feasible for a democracy unless the whole country against which it is being waged can, in the view of the democracy waging it, be held accountable for the actions of their government. If they elect warmongers and terrorists, war they will have.
