Sounds like Mahmoud took a page from the Clinton Administration playbook vis-a-vis the Ron Brown flight in Bosnia.

My guess was it was allowing the US time to convert, as a previous article suggested, and accept Islam. The August deadline would coincide with the Hiroshima anniversary

Interesting. If one realizes that Ahmadijad wants war with the US and Israel this makes sense. His goal is to bring about the return of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi and that will only happen, according to their beliefs, in the misdst of a violent and bloody world war. His goal is not to calm the situation. He's buying time to consolidate his position in Iran so that he can have the ability to either attack Israel or provoke an attack by Israel.

We should take his ranting at face value. Last year he told his people that the Mahdi was coming within 2 years and that his coming would end the world war.

...conversion of an Islamic ruler's aircraft to an even more Islamic configuration...

What the heck does that mean?

You turn on the auto-pilot and it automatically crashes into the tallest available building?

When pinged, does the IFF respond, "Death to America!"?

Does the compass only point towards Meccca?

Are women only allowed to travel in the baggage hold?

If the Airbus crashes during jihad, does it get 72 cessnas in heaven.

This is need-to-know information. Thinking about this is going to keep me up all night.

Would like to say thanks for the ping, I’ve been away for some time. I’m catching up on the reading.

“Velayat Faghih” is for crazy people, INSANE people, ignorant people, as Khomeini was.

As for “Allah” everything and anything, I must say: a new version of TAZIAN – TAZIPARASTAN! They come in all shapes and forms - disgusting.

Maybe this year or next year but one year, The TAZIPARASTAN-E ‘kesafat’ will be kicked out – I’d personally like to help! :-)

For example, the purchase of the "Aircraft of Allah" Airbus jet by the Islamic Republic for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from the Sultan of Brunei and conversion of an Islamic ruler's aircraft to an even more Islamic configuration, required for Iranian use, was certainly motivated less by the pomp and prestige factor than by the fear of flying in the decrepit aircraft owned by Iran.

But the Ahmadi-Nejad "gang" labeled it ostentatious and proposed to sell it off as decadent and anti-Islam.

Ahmadi-Nejad believes the stuff he's saying - and being a "true believer" he can be changed. The hardest people to "change" are the cynical and corrupt. Ahmadi-Nejad's dangerous, but he's not corrupt in the usual "pocket all the oil money" way. And he's not cynical. He challenges the West to "educate" him - maybe it's worth a try.

Interesting to see you use the word "taazi" for the Islamikazis. Activistchat material of good purpose.

"taazi" belongs originally to Ferdowsi as you know - I, personally, feel it is appropriate for the Islamists in Iran or Moslem 'parasts'.

Should 'Islamikazis' also enter the lexicon?

The "main man" at http://www.activistchat.com is an ardent proponent of having this word "taazi" enter the lexicon and campaigns hard to try to achieve this end. He plays a part in the anti-taazi/mullah efforts so I was giving him a hat tip and pointing you in his direction.

As far "Islamikazi" is concerned, it's a good word without the possibly "good for Moslems" connotations of the word "jihadist", thus a useful alternative deriving from the Japanese KamiKazi suicide bomber pilots of World War II.
