I understand people forgetting and having to go back...WHY???Because when they got out of the car,the parent saw the KID IN THE BACK SEAT!!!!!!How can you not see into the back seat unless you are 2 feet tall and can't see over the drivers seat?????

"How can you not see into the back seat unless you are 2 feet tall and can't see over the drivers seat?????" Have you had a baby recently? Perhaps you are not aware that infants are in rear-facing car seats. The tradtional car seats are big and bulky -- no way you can see a 5-month-old unless she is awake and her arms are wiggling over the side. The smaller ones -- with the removable infant carrier -- have a "hood" on them. Again, no way you would notice the baby -- especially if she is asleep. It is entirely plausible especially, as another poster noted, when you know that the mother got back into the car at the end of the day and drove to the child care center without ever seeing the baby in the car seat.
