I think "monster" is a bit harsh, but I agree that no child that young should be in daycare. The mother should at least spend the first year at home with the child, but if she can't afford to and must work then she should leave the child with a relative. OK, sure I'm a man, and "I just wouldn't know" how important it is for a woman to have a career or to be able to afford some of the better things in life, but I am just naive enough to believe that if you're going to bring a child into this world you should be willing to sacrifice some of your lifestyle for that child. At least during the formative years. And if you're not, keep your legs together.

I'm sorry, but stories like this just piss me off!

My my

All this vitriol about MOTHERs being responsible, staying at home vs work, keeping her legs together etc -=

I have yet to see ONE mention or question "Was there a father in the equation?"

I don't see anything in the story that tells us if she were a working mother by choice or necessity? Did I miss it?

Another monster here...both children...daycare 2 times per week.

We waited for 6 years to have children just so I could only work part time.
Before you ask...
No, we do NOT have new cars...(90 and 96).
No, we do NOT take lavish vacations (camping and staying in military housing near the ocean)
No, we DO NOT go out to eat, buy fancy clothes or have big screen TV's.....

Our children are each involved in ONE activity (presently swimming lessons).

We make nearly ALL of our meals homemade with the occasional splurge on frozen pizza or hot-dogs (although last night we ate Salmon from Costco).

That is the extent of our exciting lives..

If that makes me (or my husband) monsters...well then, I guess you better sign me up.
