Anonymous mob violence and destruction of the property of others (who may have even shared their faith) over an issue of taxation is not something that I associate with the Christian faith.

You've just made my point. I have absolutely no objection at all to someone whose faith motivates their political activity as long as it is done in the full light of day in accordance with the laws of the nation.
