The Belgians are light years ahead of the Germans (and everyone else) when it comes to brewing the best beer.

Depends on what your looking for.

Germans mostly brew wet lager beer for hot days.

Belgians mostly brew chewey barly wine for wet nasty weather.

The English mostly brew brown ale good on a cold foggy day.

It can all be good. But drinking a sprout beer in the heat would'nt be good.

Many Belgian beers are an acquired taste. I enjoy them, but for day to day consumption, I'll take the Germans.

If you are talking about the big commercial breweries I have to agree (and I used to work for Anheuser-Busch), but a lot of the microbreweries out there make some really good stuff.

There really are a lot of good micro brews in the US.

Looks like they might host a Superbowl though........

Yeah, we've done that before. (We've never been in one, however...) But we won't have hordes of Brits there for the Super Bowl hogging and plundering all of our beer.

That could start the Revolutionary War all over again.

The Houston Beer Party?

I love this bit of British chauvinism by the Mirror:

Breweries warned beer could run out before the final because of huge demand from our supporters.

Germany's running out of beer because the Brit futbol fans drink so much of it.

Riiiight. ;OP

That's like the ocean running out of water.

Hey Costanza, the ocean called, they're running out of shrimp.

Oh yeah, well the jerk store called, and they're running out of you!
