A Christian accepts the teachings of Jesus Christ and tries his/her best to follow them; and not present teachings that are in opposition.
So the people I'm referring to are not Christians. People can pin a label on saying "I'm a Christian" but it means nothing if they use Jesus Christ as a tool to further their own agenda, which agenda deviates totally from the entire Biblical teaching.
Saying "I'm a Christian" and having a church building, carrying Bibles around, enacting traditional rituals and so on actually have nothing to do with being a follower of Jesus Christ.
Many people would not call me a Christian because I not only read the Bible but the Hindu scriptures (the Vedas), but I accept the words and teachings of Jesus to be divine and perfect, and I don't see the inside of a church from one year to the next. But I accept his words, and try to live them daily.
Typical liberal arrogance. Unless they are Catholics, and most of them aren't, what the Catholic Church teachers is none of their beeswax.
So, we are denied our religious freedom in order to ensure their religious freedom? I don't get it?
Have you EVER understood the left's logic? Because I sure as hell haven't!
Thanks for the ping.
You have to understand that the Church does not believe in separation of Church & State -truth is truth regardless AND fundamental moral values are universal...
The Church considers, teaches and will always promote "family life and the public morality of the entire civil society on the basis of fundamental moral values" -as such it is a duty for all Catholics to continue pointing out the truth regardless the opposition and or consequences e.g. the whining of those who disagree:
II. Applications16. Finally, where a matter of the common good is concerned, it is inappropriate for church authorities to endorse or remain neutral toward adverse legislation even if it grants exceptions to church organizations and institutions. The church has the responsibility to promote family life and the public morality of the entire civil society on the basis of fundamental moral values, not simply to protect herself from the application of harmful laws (cf. No. 17).
The good Cardinal won't say it, but I will, "Blow it out your shorts!"
There are likely more pedophiles among NON Catholic ministers simply because being married gives them 'cover'.
