An odd story. He loves her but cannot be with her?

A US marine whose photograph touched the hearts of countless Americans has filed for divorce just weeks after his lavish wedding was funded by donations from the public.

I'm not surprised. He's fresh from a war and he's very young to be getting married. Alot on his plate. Hopefully with time and some healing, they can work this out.

Makes me think of Ira Hayes. I don't think it's a lucky thing to be randomly selected as an icon of a war.
Some people have a hard time with the whole "why them, and not me?" when thinking about the dead and wounded. Throw in some instant fame for being in the same place as a photographer with an eye for a good picture and you might multiply any survivor's guilt.
I hope he gets his life together. There's a fine line between getting help and getting used to a crutch. I'm sure that there are a lot of folks with causes to push who would love to use this kid, and that isn't going to make it easier for him.
Semper Fi, and good luck, Mac.
