Brit said only 3 republicans voted against it Caffee, McConnell and Bennett of Utah

The last two are a surprise. I like 'em both.

Bennett's vote against the flag desecration amendment is no surprise to me. Many people don't realize that he has strong social liberal tendencies. He works hard to keep them hidden and his critics off-balance with his "aw shucks" genial nature.

Along the same lines, Bennett has been a strong supporter of federal hate crimes legislation and has pushed for federal government meddling in local zoning laws to make them comport with Kofi Anan's UN model.

McConnell has opposed it every time it comes up. I used to think this was a good idea until I heard McConnell explain his opposition to an amendment. He said "where does it stop? Should we also pass an amendment banning Roseanne Barr from singing the National Anthem?" If you recall, she sang it once in a VERY disrespectful - disgraceful - way.
