Another issue: they have to differentiate themselves from Republicans. And Republicans, for the most part, have a monopoly on the real, practical solutions (IMHO).

I am biased of course, but raising taxes, cutting and running in Iraq, no serious commitment or solution for the war on terror (only to blame the US and buddy up with countries who hate the US), they don't have the upper hand on illegal immigration, or ethics ....

You forgot the part about abolishing property and gun rights, turning over the ME to OBL, cutting military spending by 50%, welfare for illegals (er, "pre-citizens"), re-education camps for conservatives and Christians, 24-hr schools, giving gays and convicted criminals special status, etc.

If so, what an outrage!
Perhaps they didn't want a bunch of wounded soldiers ruining their event...they do loathe the military, after all.
