What is the attraction of lighting things off that go boom? Good fireworks do more than just 'go boom' ... they paint the sky in bright colours and intricate patterns with fire and smoke; they accompany the painting with a symphony of whistles and reports. A good pyrotechnic is a work of art, a thing of great, but fleeting beauty.
