I thought I remembered correctly. I just went back and checked. Reagan when declaring his run for the Presidency in 1979 proposed open borders with both Mexico and Canada. He proposed that both Mexican and Canadian citizens could cross the US border at will. No need for a visa, immigration papers, or anything else. Reagan proposed that all a Mexican needed was a Mexican Birth certificate to come to the USA for as long and as often as the Mexican wanted.

You're referring to 30 years ago and a different era, perhaps an idealistic one, we're talking today and what needs to be done now. Most of us agree except for you apparently the amnesty failed, we don't need another.
