I'm very libertarian, but this open borders crap is a recipe for poverty. However, I'm not voting for any socialists.

What open borders are you referring to?

Streamlining the immigration process to enable guest workers a legal and more practical means of immigration and a legal path to citizenship. Reducing the welfare state. Only citizens and legal, tax-paying residents (including legal immigrants) should have access to tax-funded government welfare programs, including public schools and healthcare. Strengthening border security, to prevent criminals and terrorists, who would not be permitted to enter through legal checkpoints, from entering illegally. Implementing a reasonable guest worker program. Illegal immigrants who have remained otherwise law-abiding should be allowed a one-year period to sign up for a guest worker program and join the track to citizenship. After the period is over, all remaining illegal immigrants would be immediately subject to deportation.

Not really. If you want to stop illegal immigration all you have to do is stop paying them to come.
