Rush Limbaugh Under New Investigation Sign In to E-Mail This Print Save By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: June 27, 2006 Filed at 11:45 a.m. ET WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name. Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Miller said the alleged violation could be a second-degree misdemeanor. The sheriff's office was investigating and will soon turn the case over to the state attorney's office, which had no immediate comment Tuesday. Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for 18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of ''doctor shopping.'' Prosecutors had alleged the conservative talk-show host illegally deceived multiple physicians to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions. Limbaugh also must submit to random drug tests and continue treatment for his admitted addiction to painkillers. Limbaugh's doctor had prescribed the Viagra, but it was ''labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes,'' Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement. U.S. Customs and Border Protection examined the 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage after his private plane landed at the airport, Miller said. Investigators confiscated the drugs, which treat erectile dysfunction. Limbaugh was released without being charged.

How can one return from a good vacation with a bottle of Viagra.

If the vacation were really good he would return home with an empty bottle.

By the way, this is my last public post on this thread, I promise...

for those unbelievers... look to pollyannaish's posts for what a Christian should have posted.

Don't listen to my foolish intolerance. My wife introduced my to Jesus 4-5 years ago. Jesus loves all and wants us to live better and accept Him so we can not worry about being perfect!

Please forgive my previous posts!

Well, I must say that Rush has certainly enhanced his star power.

I guess Rush won't be making any jokes about Medicare paying for Grandpa's Viagra anymore.

But what the heck....heard that guys who have diabetes do have a greater chance of having ED.

Moreover, it's not Rush's fault that the doc prescribed it in the doc's name...anyway, who can read a doc's handwriting?

Is this over yet? Has anyone heard? Are we waiting for the liberal prosecuter to make a decision or anything? I heard this was totally legal.....so what's going on?

Why is the NY Times reporting about this? I don't see how it directly aids Al Qaeda terrorists.

Of course this does. In the drive by media's mind. If talk radio crumbles, then they would be in sole control and the democrats would win elections and there for help al-Qaeda .

See...everything they do ;)

Pretty lame investigation.

Rush Limbaugh is guilty of being Rush Limbaugh. Anybody else would have been let go.

God Bless Rush. Evil is trying to ruin him.

They are out to get him because he is the man. I would like to see him sue them for something, but the judges are a joke.

We have traveled all over the world multiple times, ususally First or Business Class, and carry our medication in the daily pill boxes and well. In many instances we've had three months of pills that take up a carry on bag and NEVER has customs in ANY Country asked what was in the pill boxes. Until recently I never even carried copies of the prescriptions!

It was my understanding from Fox News on Bill O'Reilly that their is a law in Florida that allows a physician the prescribe a drug to a patient in the doctor's name for anonymity purposes if they fill out the proper forms with the State and that Rush's doctor had in fact followed the procedure required by the State of Florida. Even Bill O'Reilly's "liberal" commentator agreed this was a case of harassment and that the first call was made by the Palm Beach Police to the press.

I guess there is more "up" on this than the power of Viagra.
