(AP) -- Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name. Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Miller said the alleged violation could be a second-degree misdemeanor. The sheriff's office was investigating and will soon turn the case over to the state attorney's office, which had no immediate comment Tuesday. Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for 18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of ''doctor shopping.'' Prosecutors had alleged the conservative talk-show host illegally deceived multiple physicians to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions. Limbaugh also must submit to random drug tests and continue treatment for his admitted addiction to painkillers. Limbaugh's doctor had prescribed the Viagra, but it was ''labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes,'' Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement. U.S. Customs and Border Protection examined the 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage after his private plane landed at the airport, Miller said. Investigators confiscated the drugs, which treat erectile dysfunction. Limbaugh was released without being charged.

If this is all they can find to worry about with Rush, they are sure proving they really were in a witch hunt.

I take a controlled substance on a daily basis and if I am caught with some of them and don't have them in the bottle with a prescription with MY name on it, it is a class D felony!
This happened to my neighbor who got stopped for speeding and had 2 vicodins in her purse (which were legally prescribed to her for a legitimate reason).
It did not matter that she could PROVE that they were prescribed. She still spent a night in jail and had to go to court on the felony charge!
At the best, any controlled substance will be confiscated, at the worst you could end up like her.

I don't understand this nonsense but the only sense I can make of it is that he was coming from another country and there is greater scrutiny. Surely this incident doesn't mean anyone can be hassled in an airport on a domestic flight for not having prescription drugs in the orig bottle. Pls somebody tell me this ain't so.
abstinence until marriage is the only way. But nobody's perfect, and Rush has been great on so many things that I don't see why we shouldn't cut him some slack. And if it was Clinton, people would be up in arms and rightly so. Totally different situations. Rush is a good man with some flaws, like we all have. Clinton is abominable.
Rush is invited to move up North to Seminole County Florida, (just north of Orlando) where we have about 40,000 more Republicans on the voting roles vs Democrats in our County.
And we have plenty of secluded lake front communities if he wants to be on the water.
He can use Sanford Airport (SFB) for his international flights, and use X04 for his local in country, and perhaps by his own Hangar lot and home right on the Airport (Orlando Apopka Airport and Fly In Community).
