McCain Denouces Forced Labor for Illegal Immigrants...Backs Don Goldwater's GOP Primary Opponent
McCain Press Release

Washington D.C. Conservative U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) issued the following statement regarding the suggestion of Don Goldwater, candidate for Arizona governor, to incarcerate illegal immigrants in forced labor camps:
"I strongly denounce Don Goldwaters deeply offensive suggestion that illegal immigrants should be incarcerated in concentration camps along the border, and pressed into forced labor. That Mr. Goldwater is either unaware of or indifferent to the loaded symbolism, injustice and un-Americanism of his plan to address the many serious issues caused by illegal immigration reveals his flaws as a candidate, and a stunning lack of respect for the basic values of a generous and decent society.
"I hope that Arizona Republicans, no matter how passionate they feel about the issue, will not want Barry Goldwaters Republican Party to be associated with such an obviously inappropriate messenger."

Sorry, but Goldwater's plan sounds a bit like something that led to a Civil War back in 1861...

Barry Goldwater is the guy with the horse sense to insist we stop coddling illegal aliens. John McCain has other ideas, including granting them amnesty in one fell swoop.

Yes, but his plan calls for the illegals to live in a tent city along the border and have them build the fence/wall.
Did the press release give specifics about what "forced labor" meant?
If these illegals are going to come here illegally, they should be punished. And imo, making them build that wall, would not be a bad thing.
Although some could say that having them build that wall, might not be a good idea, because they could make certain parts weak enough to break past....
But I disagree with anything McLame says. And I think Goldwater is going to be a much better Governor than the thing in office now.

Hey, John! We'll begin to care what you think about the time you and Arlen get permission from your Mexican friends to build a fence!
Go, Don, go!

How does McCain feel about prisons and jails that use inmate labor on a regular basis?

As far as I'm concerned, hard labor is an acceptable punishment for criminal acts. I'm like you; I don't see what the problem is.

Hey McLame try reading this, it is from the Constitution, you remember that document don't you? You swore to protect and uphold it.
Amendment 13: Slavery Abolished
1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

How does McCain feel about prisons and jails that use inmate labor on a regular basis? But don't inmates at least get a trial first before sentencing?

Actually the problem is McCain. Perhaps Mccains "denouncement" of the SUPPOSED remarks from Goldwater were taken out of context.
McCain's bill with his buddy Kennedy is to give away this country to the illegals and I denounce him and his bills.

1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction...The problem is that under the Goldwater plan they would, to my understanding, not be afforded a trial as they are not citizens...

Hardly need a trial if you're here illegally. It's pretty damn obvious you broke the law.
