I know what you mean! One look at the tabloids in the supermarket check-out aisle convinces me of that.

Who looks at a celebrity and then thinks, "I bet he has erectile dysfunction"?

I don't know the answer for sure, but I used to travel (domestically) frequently (by Amtrak, no less) and I would always take the actual pill bottles, no matter how inconvenient it was. I figured the inconvenience of not having the pill minder with me was far easier to deal with than the hassle of being a stranger far from home with a questioning authority to deal with.

I also remember a friend complaining about motion sickness on a plane and saying that a friend gave her a Valium or something to take on the plane if needed. A big red light went off in my mind and I told her of my concern - don't have ANY prescription drug without a proper, documented prescription in your name.

Having said all that, I can't escape the conclusion that Rush is being targeted.

CAN I BE THE FIRST TO SAY THIS? RUSH IS THE FIRST "UNDOCUMENTED" ARRIVAL TO THE U.S. THE LIBERALS ACTUALLY DON'T WANT TO GIVE A FREE PASS!!!

Well I don't do drugs. It still amazes me how many people on this forum leap to condemn one of our own. They actually relish it. Sad really.

The NYT and MSM is more concerned about invading the financial privacy of terrorists overseas transactions than with Rush Limbaughs medical privacy.

Yeah, well I guess I do break the law all the time.

I take a variety of medications, when I travel somewhere I usually bring a couple of percocet as well, since I have a bad back, and a flare up can be excruciating.

I do not take five different bottles. If I am going away for five days, I empty enough of all the meds to last me five days into one bottle.

Against the law? Perhaps. Should someone swing for making a big deal about it and notifying the press, if it is determined to be an employee of a state or federal agency?

Absolutely.

Leave? That would give 'em what they want. Nah. Rush ought to stay and laugh all the way to the bank. Which is what he'll do.

Paulat,

You, Marine Inspector and Postal Worker With a Gun (THERE'S a good handle!) think he is "stupid".

Most regular (non-customs/enforcement) people think this is absurd. And it is.

In my opinion, how the word got from a Customs official asking questions to a representative of a national news agency is, and should be the story. If it is determined that an agent tipped someone off, THAT person, who picked up a phone should be fired post-haste.

Now, everyone knows it was no secret, he wasn't sneaking in or out of the country. Hell, all of his listeners knew that he would be returning from the Dominican Republic on Monday, he said so on his last broadcast on Thursday (I heard him say it) so it could be that there were people on watch to see if he got taken from the agent's window into some small cinderblock room, and that could be how it got out.

He should be glad they only delayed him 3 hours, if I was the cop, he would be in jail on probation violation.

He had a bottle w/someone else's name on it. big whoop. He wasn't arrested because he hadn't broken the law. Plain & simple. This was a mere political stunt and even a four year old can see that fact.

I think he's handsome (very like my dad was). So I could overlook rich, but famous? That's a serious turnoff.
Normal women, who are not themselves publicly recognized, generally would not date a celebrity with a ten-foot-pole. (Natural or enhanced.)

If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

- Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged , Ch. III, "White Blackmail" (Dr. Ferris)

precisely. excellent reference. been meaning to read that book. THANKS.

Sounds like there is a very lucky lady in Rush's life.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would feel embarrassed about taking Viagra to the point of getting the prescription in the doc's name, but what do I know about being a celebrity and all that comes with it?

I believe Rush knew his enemies would use something like a Viagra prescription against him. And Rush has a LOT of enemies, some of them very powerful.
