MIAMI, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media:
While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey.
And a couple of years ago I didn't have hot flashes either. Ahhhhh, time is cruel. Very cruel! :)
Viagra? At least he's getting some! Go Rush.
Nobody's piddled in my Wheaties. I'm defending my fellow CBP employees against possibly unfounded accusations.
If it turns out that CBP blabbed this to the media, I'll be at the head of the line calling for discipline. But I resent the assumption that CBP targeted him for a search based solely on who he was. We've got enough to do without that nonsense.
(Denny Crane: "Every one should carry a gun strapped to their waist. We need more - not less guns.")
This is proof tat we need Ann Coulter more than ever. She can grab all the vileness the left throws at us, and hit them back double with it. Let's hope this incident re-energizes Rush, too.
Another post of the day.
As long as the illegals aren't in Rush's pants, they will never be found. But let Rush have one UNDOCUMENTED MEDICATION and they call out the big guns.
Three hours detained. Sheesh. The Viagra probably wore off by then.
You are either trying to pick a fight, a deep cover troll or Rush turned you down.
No romance tonight. (Sorry I just had to had a little humor.)
It definitely helps us understand Cheney's heart problem better.
Tell me about it!
Bears repeating.
Who, me? I'm as tolerant as most people on this board, if not more so. But as I posted earlier, folks are assuming that CBP targeted Rush for political reasons and then blabbed it to the media.
I want some proof before I start condeming people. I don't see anywhere in this article that says the leak came from CBP. For all we know, there could have been a media puke in secondary observing what went on.
Until we know, I'm not going to blindly accept that CBP is out to get him.
Were I close to him...I might have said..."Rush...you're going to a Latin American country...you have had drug issues...make sure your luggage is beyond reproof!"
He was so happy to go hang with the "24" crowd. I bet he's dropped like a hot potato now. Hollywood is Hollywood.
All of this could have been avoided.
Furthermore, it looks suspicious as hell, so defcon is pretty well within her rights to make assumptions. You choose to assume that the CBP officers did nothing wrong..that is your right.
I, on the other hand, think that this is highly irregular, considering today's privacy laws. That, too, is an assumption, one that I am fully justified in making, and an assumption for which I do not have to ask your permission.
I guess Rush will simply have to entertain at home from now on.
Are you kidding me? Did you even read my post?
I think Rush is terrific, and as far as I'm concerned (from what little we know here) he didn't break the law. For him to have been detained for this is routine. No big deal.
I would like to know, as would everyone, who told the media. I don't automatically assume it was CBP.
And by the way, you picked the fight with your comment about 9/11. Talk about apples and oranges!
Insulting? Please tell me what I said that was insulting. If I was, I will apologize.
is it just me, or does Ward Churchill bare a striking resemblance to Janet Reno?
I don't know anyone who loves this country MORE than Rush. And this is how he is treated. It makes me so mad that I wish there were more we could do about it. Here in L.A. stars routinely travel dripping with pills and every other kind of drug. Rarely are they ever even glanced at.
