MIAMI, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media:

While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey.

It really does point out just how much hope the Left puts in the destruction of Rush/Rove/deLay/et al. The comments out in the Liberal fever swamps( dailykos.com democratunderground.com )show an incredible giddyness in the early reports and now hope that still something will come of it.It will be interesting to see if the MSM (drive by media)will still run the non-story tomorrow.

They detained him because he is Rush Limbaugh and they went on a fishing expedition. It's a total BS campaign, because they can't get Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney etc. It's Rush's turn. It's BS pure and simple.If they can find a pill bottle on Rush, why did they not find those pukes on 9/11?

I'm speaking from my perspective as a former prosecutor.

I just don't see a person like Rush having his prescrptions filled in the ordinary fashion by a pharmacist. Every person outside the immediate closed circle of Rush and his doctor represents a potential leak to Rush's enemies. HIPAA and all the laws prohibiting such disclosures notwithstanding, his enemies would find a way to disclose the information without consequence to themselves.

As it turned out, it apparently was not a smart move to do it the way they did it. But I can understand why it happened, and it is an offense only in the narrowest technical sense--and very likely Rush's doctor's offense, not Rush's.

I'm glad I don't have live every second of my life wondering what smear the radical left wing is going to unloose on me or my reputation tomorrow.
