Your doctor doesn't even have to write a prescription to give you medication, if he has it there. It's entirely up to his judgement. The prescription is so someone OTHER THAN THE DOCTOR knows that you have his permission to receive the drug. My doctor routinely gives me medication for my asthma and allergies right there at the office. No prescription is needed because he is giving it to me himself.
I should point out of course that these are samples to he can see if the work. You'd be amazed at how many samples doctors are given by companies ravenous to get their products more exposure.

That is true. My doctor has done that but my name was hand written on it.
However, the local news is saying that the prescription bottle had the doctor's name on it. The news is saying that it will be turned over to the prosecutor to see if charges will be filed.
