Somehow this carjacker ignored the fact that when he entered the car he was legally required to do one of the following:
1. Wear this weapon holstered and unconcealed
2. Lock the handgun in a container in plain sight
3. Lock the handgun in the glovebox

The dingleberries that put these poison pills into the Ohio CCW bill should be forced to live under the same conditions as the regular citizenry.

"An autopsy is planned today...."

I can tell you the result already... The gun did it.

In MA, the "victim" would be the dead guy, and the vehicle owner would likely as not have a grand jury in his future.

No, my guess is that the bullet did it.

Why does the media persist in calling a criminal who dies in the act a "suspect"? He definitely was someplace he was not supposed to be.

He will never be "convicted" because we do not hold trials for dead men.

It is like when there is a multiple shooting in a public place and the shooter is killed on the scene and the media still says "the suspect died at the scene". If they are truly only suspects then the right guys may not have died in these cases. I sure hope that the guilty parties don't commit more crimes < /sarc >

Sheriff, the shooting would have been in self defense even if the motorist had NOT been shot first.

"appears to be self-defense because the motorist had been shot first."

Geez, gotta take a bullet for it to 'appear' justified? A stranger breaking in to your car and laying in wait for you with a loaded weapon in the back seat just isn't enough any more?

WTF? The shooting was self-defense because the car owner's life was threatened by the criminal possessing and wielding the gun. I'm certainly not waiting to be shot before feeling like it's OK to defend myself.

It's a rule taught in every "J" school in the country (including DINFOS). A person is a "suspect" or "accused" until he or she is actually convicted. There are legal as well as moral reasons for doing it this way.

"An autopsy is planned today."

"First, while noting the effects of rigor mortis, we remove the right arm and left foot for balance. We then see if we can prop him up in the corner on the remaining leg. If he can be propped up on his own, then we remove the other arm...."

Apparently, in order to act in self-defense in Ohio, you've got to be shot first.

No, my guess is society did it and we need tighter gun control laws. /sarcasm off
