The ex-CIA official said the leaker should be in front of a firing squad.

And of course Colmes comes in spewing his blather.

First Constitutional President: "I want Bill Keller.
I'll hang that traitor if it's the last thing I do on God's earth.

Is there really a difference between the leaker and the Pinch? I don't think so.... (i.e., What is good for the leaker is good for the drip.)

Sulzberger is, if nothing else, a testimonial for a 100% inheritance tax.

He's been a consistent under achiever since childhood, but by accident of birth is in one of the most influential positions on Earth. Additionally, he's been a traitor almost from birth and continues to be a traitor to this day. Benedict Arnold became a traitor, of course, but only after he became one of the great heroes of the Revolutionary War. Pinch, on the other hand, has never made a single positive contribution to anyone except himself, let alone his country.

I say we should prosecute the bastard along with all of the liberal malcontents at Defense, the CIA and State Department. Give them all a fair trial and hang them at dawn!!

CAN JOURNALISTS REALLY BE PROSECUTED for publishing national security secrets?

Yes. They can be prosecuted.

If the New York Times told a columnist for the Wall Street Journal that they were going to publish his column and not pay him, they could publish it. It would be impossible to stop them. But, after the fact, the wronged columnist could sue the New York Times -- and win.

It's not "prior restraint" -- the New York Times can't be told not to publish, but they can be held accountable for what they do publish. In the case of the columnist, they can be sued. In the case of treason, they can be arrested, tried, and put to death. The right to publish is just that: the right to publish. Nothing more.

The New York Times can't publish copyrighted material without legal consequences and they can't publish national security information without legal consequences. They are not above the law.

In addition to his traitorous activities he outrages public decency by being a 70+ year old man going by the nickname of Pinch. I'd like to PINCH his head off!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom...of the press...

In short, the press can print what they wish. But the leakers of classified information must be caught. Any law requiring anyone to divulge the identity of leakers is not a law that is designed to abridge freedom of the press. It is designed to catch those committing a treasonous and criminal act.

If the press says that leakers will be discouraged from leaking, then that is not abridging the freedom of the rpess, either.

Prosecute the leakers and require all government employees to sign statements that they are not also independent journalists, and that they recognize that divulging any information for any reason to the press is a violation of the law.

Depends. There is the little matter of the tension between guts and entrenched power.

I believe Pinch, (not to be confused with Punch, his daddy), is in his late 40s.

The Times's publisher, Arthur "Pinch" Sulzberger Jr ... was a sixties anti-war activist who famously declared that in a confrontation between an American and a North Vietnamese soldier he'd want to see the American get shot."

The NYT is kkklintons paper isn't it???? By that I mean, aren't they the ones that are getting paid to print the 'other government' that is being run....

Remember what Rush said, he thought, by the way things were being done, that there was another government here in operation....at the time I thought 'tin hat' but now I'm not so sure....he might have something here....
