joe, that anti-Americanism is fueled as a result of individuals like yourself who are determined to start another Cold War.

I saw a report that Alexander Solzenitzen thinks that America and NATO is a threat, a plot against Christian Russia.

There are right-wing individuals on both sides, in Russia and America, who are totally intolerant of the other country.

Ha! I've seen more anti-American programs on the BBC, Deutsche Welle, CBC, and CNN!

"..more extreme expression of this trend in the ranting of the pro-Putin Zhirinovskii party.."

Ya see, it's when I read such ill-informed opinions I tend to discount the author. LDPR is "pro-Putin"??? Oh, I guess that's why Zhirik and his boys were complaining that the only chance he'd have at becoming the next president would be if Putin and co would allow elections free of interference from govt orgs and state-controlled press outlets? Hmmm.

Plus, Zhirik is a clown who mugs for the cameras - one day he'll slam the US, the next day he's at the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Picnic toasting the great beacon of democracy.....

Russia and its satellites purged their best citizens and this is what they're left to work with.

Zhirinovsky wants Putin to run for 3rd term - The Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), led by Zhirinovsky, who is also Duma deputy chairman, "proposes that a referendum on amendments to the constitution of the country be held before the presidential election of 2008 then [President Vladimir] Putin would be able to stay for a third term and remain in office not for four, but for seven years," the LDPR press service quoted Zhirinovsky as saying.

"The four-year presidential term is the American term, and it's not acceptable, ...The tsars ruled for about 15 years each. The general secretaries had 15-year terms on average. This way, a president who serves two terms would get 14 years. ...There shouldn't be any limitations for the head of state at all, ...It should be like a monarchy." - V. Zhirinovsky

It is more like recycled communism by the Neo-Soviets in Russia.

Regular, traditional baboonery, even if with the trappings of modern vocabulary. A trained circus monkey, even when wearing a shirt and trousers, remains a monkey.

"joe, that anti-Americanism is fueled as a result of individuals like yourself who are determined to start another Cold War."

No they are fueled by the same bankrupt morality that tried
to poison Yushchenko, that has been destabilizing the Middle East, and shut the gas off to Europe.

Solzhenitsin has always been a racist. Most of what he learned was at the feet of the Ukrainian gulag underground.

"Ya see..."

That was a Nice sprinkle of middle americanese you threw in there to really endear us, Romie!

Oh, BTW - :

"For all his fiery rhetoric, Mr. Zhirinovsky has consistently supported the government in all crucial votes in Parliament."

TGJ, NEVER hang your hat on a Zhirinovsky position - he said last week, and this was covered extensively in the Russian media, that he would WIN the Presidential Elections 2008 IF they were held fairly and not all media focused on whomever Putin "annoints" as his successor. He'll say whatever and take any position as long as he gets his mug on tv.
