I am glad you posted that...
Some freepers have been assuming, I think, that Bush and the Justice Dept. have done nothing about the previous leaks..
Last week, when they arrested those terrorists in Florida, they mentioned that they had been following them for months and months...
The Justice Dept. HAS to take it's time, and make SURE they have their ducks in a row, before making their actions known.
We don't know yet...but it is possible that the previous cases COULD be about ready to be prosecuted...which might make the White House less inclined to overreact to this one...knowing what is coming later.
And to go along with your comment here's what was said at the morning White House gaggle: :)
Q What about -- Peter King went further, he was talking about investigating and prosecution. Is that going too far?
MR. SNOW: Well, again, there is a process for doing this. The agency in charge has to make a criminal referral. You may remember that former CIA Director Tenet made a criminal referral. It is highly unusual for somebody to announce that they've done so. But there are very strict processes for doing this. And beyond that, I'm not going to extend the brief.
Good point Sleuth! Wish I had thought of it! ;*)
I don't know if you've been listening to Rush's show today but the sub that's in for Rush had AG Gonzales as a guest. On this particular issue, Gonzales was very mum, not commenting, premature, etc.
Next guest was Edwin Meese. Meese said there was certainly enough ground to launch an investigation at the Slimes.
Point is, the DoJ is being cagey, keeping mum and getting the bases covered. I believe (hope!) that Meese gave us a heads up on what to expect.
