Tehran - Iran expects to earn $60bn from oil exports in its current financial year that ends on March 20, 2007, state television reported on Sunday.

"Last year, we earned about $50bn from oil sales. This year this figure will reach more than $60bn," Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh was quoted as saying.

"Iran generally exports between around 2.3 million and 2.4 million barrels per day. But today we have around 2.25 million barrels per day of exports," he said, adding Iran's oil was sold at about $62 per barrel on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, Iran said it has raised its oil production by 150 000 barrels per day to 4.125 million barrels per day.

Iran is the world's fourth largest oil producer and the second largest in Opec.

Its official production level had remained at around four million barrels a day in recent months, although industry experts say the true production figure may be slightly lower.

The country's Opec quota is 4.11 million barrels per day, 13.1% of the organisation's total. Opec's official production ceiling stands at 28 million barrels per day.

If the black stuff wouldn't come out of the ground there, they'd be stiff goat herders, instead of me4ssing around with plutonium.

Those production numbers seem way light for all the noise they are making. If they were to cut a deal stop the kill the infidel stuff, I bet their production would increase tenfold.

Tehran-Government officials declared today that the strikes today on Iran's nuclear facilities will cost the country an estimated $300 Billion dollars to replace. President Ahmonajihad was reported to be "Pissed". ;-)

300 bln to replace? Let them beat their chests like grog. It might well be they developed something "proprietary and inalienable".

Then there's this earlier article of the mess they are in: "Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad promised an improvement in living standards and income when he took office in August 2005, but the country's economic difficulties persist despite annual oil revenues of about $50 billion. Even though the government has introduced various measures to combat inflation and mass unemployment -- in addition to initiating projects designed to combat homelessness -- more than 50 percent of the Iranian population continues to live under the poverty line, according to official estimates provided by the Iranian Central Bank. The government institution sets the poverty line at an income of €230 ($280) per month for a family of five." link: http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/0,1518,411083,00.html
