I'm confused as to how any private entity could get permission to tunnel under a public street? Can anyone just willy-nilly started tunneling around under streets? I thought only public works or utilities could do something like that. And what would be the stated purpose on the permit?

Interesting information that the muslim soldier who fragged other soldiers went to this mosque, along with the hijackers. Somehow I don't trust our intelligence community to be monitoring these radicals the way they should be.

"Somehow I don't trust our intelligence community to be monitoring these radicals the way they should be."

With good reason. Note this article says according to the 911 Commission it took them TWO YEARS after 911 to kick out the Mosque's chief terrorist. At that rate...well...

"Fahad al Thumairy, a King Fahd mosque imam at that time, was a well known Wahhabi extremist and Saudi diplomat whom the U.S. expelled for suspected terrorism in 2003."

As for permits to dig under streets or whatever, by now wouldn't there be plenty of terrorists in "normal" positions in City, State and Federal government. These people know how to infiltrate our society. They are recruiting among our own youngsters (remember Jihad Johnny?). They will pave the way for themselves while our government lets it happen. We need a Rumsfeld in charge of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the CIA.
