Food for thought, this alliance has occurred over multiple generations...it didnt happen over night.
No the alliance didn't happen overnight. Japan is a much better partner than most we call "allies".
In other words, I wouldn't own a Citroen or Peogeot, have a Michelin tire, drink Champagne or even go to France.
I have yet to buy a Japanese car, and probably won't. However, I readily run Yokohamas, drink Sapporo and want to visit Japan.
