"Unfortunately, we've known the bad news about Olmert for quite some time now."

I have been slow to pick it up, I'll admit. I thought the Gaza pullout was a good idea---obviously I was wrong. But it turns out the Egyptians had pledged to provide security on the Gaza side, and then reneged. I blamed that on the United States for not coming down on Egypt like a ton of bricks for not enforcing their pledge. I still do blame the United States for that.

I also have been thinking it's a good idea to withdraw from much of the West Bank (as he plans to do)---and Olmert is going ahead with plans to complete the fence.

However, it is now becoming clear that this guy is either half-crazy or covertly on the other side.

I admire you at least for the admission. I await is from some others.

Israel is playing for stakes where it can't be wrong for one instance. And unfortunately, and maybe fatally, this young Government is far from doing the damage of which it is capable. But it is proceeding apace.
