They would miss their 72 virgins. (Can you even imagine a religion that uses sex as the reward for their believers?)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That is not the amazing part, sex is a wonderful experience, exactly the sort of thing that a person would look forward to. The amazing part is that they will kill their own sister for premarital sex on Earth but imagine a Paradise filled with willing wantons. Read Mark Twain's letters from the Earth sometime, he had a lot to say about this sort of thing.

"If the response to Nazis or Stalinists or Islamofacists is to compromise what makes America different then we will become the same."

Your history is shabby. We fire-bombed German cities to rubble after their armies were defeated and the war was technically over, (read about Dresden). That didn't make us like them. We never became Nazis, in fact we became an even greater nation than we were before the war.

Harry Truman, a liberal Democrat, understood that we needed to be tougher and meaner than the Japanese in order to obtain final victory. Japan would have been defended to the last man, and it would have been totally dug-in, armed and ready for whatever we could throw at them. In other words, it would have been an "insurgency" like there has never been before. Truman, understanding this fully, showed them he was a warrior and blew two of their cities to hades with an A-bomb, and he won the day. Still, we did not become like the Japanese imperial government, we remained a Democracy, a free people with the highest moral standards on earth.

War isn't really about the "people" of any nation if they have been dragged into warfare by an evil enemy, it's about the armies who defend their people, so they can keep their way of life intact. The meanest, toughest, best military wins, and the people of the country they defend will not change their moral standards as a result, they will sigh a sigh of relief and get on with their lives.

America will remain a Democracy, free people with high moral standards; and if this ever changes it won't be because our military men were mean and tough, it will be an inside job.

I would argue that we acted better than the Germans and the Japanese and the Stalinists and did not lower ourselves to their standards.

Thanks for the link, and for formatting it. That's got to be one of the greatest rants I've ever enjoyed.
