The team that reached the quarterfinals four years ago and entered this tournament ranked fifth showed it isn't one of the world's top five or eight teams.

Five or eight? More like fifty or eighty.

The good news is the few of us care. ....and that fact alone drives the soccer-mad world mad.

It would drive them even madder if we didn't care and STILL were the best. That's what I'd like to see.

No, apparently we *were* one of the top 32, or else we wouldn't have been in the tournament at all.

Personally I don't see how an accurate gripe about a bad call makes for "sore losers." We had a chance, we didn't score goal 2, end of the line.

We did better than Saudi Arabia and Iran, which is at least something.

American baseball, football, and basketball are much more interesting... and our hockey teams can compete with the best of them...

Soccer is the politically correct sport of the socialist international intelligensia. Yep, I drives them crazy that Americans couldn't give damn about it... or their touchy-feely cultural Marxism.

Too bad we didn't win it - the President could have used it to scrape off his boots after checking the pasture...
