MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - A paparazzo was arrested Thursday after he was discovered hiding in bushes outside a daycare center attended by Angelina Jolie's adopted son, authorities said.

Photographer Clint Brewer, 25, was trying to take pictures of 4-year-old Maddox Jolie-Pitt, according to Cindy Guagenti, a publicist for Jolie's partner, Brad Pitt.

Brewer was detained by security shortly before 11 a.m. and the property's owner made a citizen's arrest, said sheriff's Lt. Crystal Miranda.

Deputies arrested Brewer on suspicion of trespassing and he was later released on $1,000 bail, officials said.

Jolie, Pitt and their children returned to Malibu two weeks ago after Jolie, 31, gave birth to daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Namibia last month. The couple have two older children, 18-month-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and Maddox, adopted from Cambodia.

Both Maddox and Zahara's surnames were legally changed to Jolie-Pitt after Pitt, 42, announced his intention to adopt the children.

In all fairness I believe that these papparizi should be granted their photo ops, but only after they are administered a proctological photo shoot of their own bowels with their own cameras.

The papparazzi suck, but it's just a symptom of a bigger problem. If people would quit buying their celebrity-worship garbage, it wouldn't be a big money-maker and the free market system would take these guys out to the trash where they belong. But no, people just eat this stuff up and these idiots continue to operate.

Oh, that's sweet. She adopts a kid and then throws him in day care. Why did she bother?

Even if the US public didn't buy these publications, the rest of the world does and the majority of "big" celebs are in America.

The terms for such bottom feeders are not English words.

Our laws permit you to photograph anyone in public (although some districts are prohibited the photography of minors, even clothed, in public as a voyeuristic crime).

I don't want there to be 2 classes of individual, celebrities and commoners.

And Diane Arbus probably made more money off of her photos of strangers than she ever did off a photo of someone famous.

The person hiding near a school would wish the police would have arrested IT if I had seen them!

Yes, but our laws DON'T allow stalking and/or tresspassing. The guy describes the guy crouching behind a bush at the kid's daycare to get pictures. That shouldn't be allowed, no matter who's kid it is.

Many photographers who do street photography (for galleries and books, both commercial sale) do so discreetly.

Stalking is not merely following. I believe that the offended party must first get a restraining order against the individual.

Discreetly taking pictures of an adult celebrity coming and going from a public place is a different story from the guy hiding in the bushes outside a daycare.

I realize a few idiots can make a bad name for the other people out there legitimately trying to make a living. I'm sorry, but this guy was out of line.

Diane Arbus photo of an anonymous child:

It's creepy. And she confronted the child.

Maybe it IS better to hide in the bushes and leave the kid "alone".

Why is it necessary to qualify each child's relationship as "adopted" or "birth"? They were harrassing Jolie's son, period.

Yup. I learned in economics 101 that when you buy a product you are voting for it.

I'm not a fan of day care ,but she adopted an orphan from Thailand and an orphan from Ethiopia.

I think her adopted children are better off with her than they would be in third world orphan ages.
