We have difficult work to do in Iraq. We are bringing order to parts of that country that remain dangerous. We are pursuing and finding leaders of the old regime, who will be held to account for their crimes. We have begun the search for hidden chemical and biological weapons, and already know of hundreds of sites that will be investigated. We are helping to rebuild Iraq, where the dictator built palaces for himself, instead of hospitals and schools. And we will stand with the new leaders of Iraq as they establish a government of, by, and for the Iraqi people. The transition from dictatorship to democracy will take time, but it is worth every effort. Our coalition will stay until our work is done. And then we will leave — and we will leave behind a free Iraq.

From George Bush's speech that day!

Like all the "hawk" DUmocrats calling for us to strike North Korea? They gave the technology willingly, now hope that Bush can clean up their mess (while they call him "Hitler" from the sidelines).

"Somehow I don't think even the Dems would have supported Clinton had he looked that janitor in the eyes and pulled the trigger."

What makes you think that? They supported him when he looked Juanita Broadderick in the eye, and told her she'd better "put some ice on it".

Yeah, they WERE on a six-week cycle for the longest time, but seem to have gone to a random pattern: Punch in, stick your hand in the jar and pull out the talking point for the day.

Gets kinda funny when they start the "We can't defeat so-and-so" at 8 AM and the Pentagon announces that so-and-so went to frolic with the ugly virgins five hours BEFORE that, but that's the breaks....

Just common sense, not PC. I am not arguing that we should put our troops in peril, just that we have to set a higher bar because of our unassailable power.

The US does have to have some global support. Using too heavy a hand would alienate everyone.

It has worked, even with the MSM trying to paint our soldiers as demons every chance they get. We have earned great respect for this war in Iraq, not only for the results, but also for the method, regardless of what the MSM says.

BEEN PAST time to do that for fifteen years.

I (gasp, shudder) live in the 9th JD, repressed minority area.

Seems to me we are on the same page, I call it being PC and you call it common sense. I'm for inflicting such damage on the enemy that they lose the desire to fight knowing we will kill them with prejudice.

Yep, I think we are....I hate these damn insurgent things. I have no problem killing the bad guys with extreme prejudice. But, we need the support of the innocents.

Although, I believe the future holds total war against Islam, innocents and all.

So, it's not that they ARE innocent, just that we need their support, so we won't kill them ... for now ...

Not quite sure that's the attitude I want my soldiers to carry into battle --- "I'll get around to killing you later when it's more convenient for me, little girl ..."

Naw...that's not really the attitude I think the soldiers should have, but I believe we will not be able to stop the Muslim fanatics without a widespread support of the "innocents".

If their support is not forthcoming (unfortunately I believe that will be the case), they will seal their own fates. If it comes down to our "innocents" dying or the enemie's "innocents" dying.....

if the communists win in Mexico, won't THEY close the borders?

Right, and THEN watch the people run to get out...just like the paradise of Cuber.
