They have always been a paranoid imperialist state irregardless what form of government they had. In many ways they have that right(Golden Horde, Napoleon and Hitler). For whatever reason Russia cannot feel secure unless it can have a strong influence over its neighbors. But I don't think they can maintain their attempt to revive an Empire. Mr. Woosley is correct in my opinion on this. Russia is to sick on the inside to build a solid foundation in which to rebuild an Empire. Any attempt will mostly likely fail.

I agree; but, after Grosney and having to deal with those winey Europeans.... I don't blame Putin for his actions. Those Europeans are the absolute worst hypocrites. They are so wrong all the time.
