If someone of Gore's ilk becomes the next President of the U.S.; there likely will be a different global warming policy.
It'll probably be similar to the one that Canada had under Liberal governments. The policy goes something like this: mouth a lot of platitudes; attend a lot of international conferences; sign every available international agreement; then -- do nothing. Environmentalists, the media, and the Birkenstock crowd at the local Starbucks will gush nothing but praise for the "enlightened conversations". They will be remarkably incurious about whether anything was actually changed.

It isn't that the ecowackos will be remarkably incurious about whether anything changed, they don't care. In fact if their policies actually solved the "problem" they would be out of work, so "solutions" that don't actually fix the problem are to be preferred. Then they can come up with new solutions, which won't fix the "problem" either.
The objective is to have something further to advocate, more laws, more restrictions of individual rights, more power to be assumed by the government, which they, of course, will control.
