False teeth: Bogus dental shop raided, shut down (Unlicensed "Grill-Work" Alert)

PALM SPRINGS — For the past few months, anyone willing to sacrifice hygiene for a discount on gold teeth caps could stroll into a nondescript shop on Lake Worth Road, have their grill fitted and be on their way with a mouth full of bling-bling.
Some customers got shiny new golden "grills" and led their friends to the business. They were the lucky ones.
Other clients of the unlicensed dental shop fronting as a custom jewelry shop in the 3200 block of Lake Worth Road ended up with painful, infected mouths. The amateur dentists, detectives say, cast grills using filthy dental tools that were stored in a cluttered, musky backroom. They even used dirty pliers to adjust grills before sticking them back in a customer's mouth, authorities said.

I'm wondering the same thing. Too many weird stories from Florida. A while back here on FR was the story of a dentist who worked out of his car.
It does not surprise me that charlatans are becoming involved with dentists considering what they are charging. A neighbor of mine just spent close to $10,000 on three teeth and the well-respected dentist managed to mess up.
