Maybe I can give up my private sector job and get a gub-mint position...
I did that just over 5 years ago. I'm very close to going back. Yes, the money is good. Yes, the bennies are good (our operation doesn't have civil service, but we do "get" to put money into social security and a 401k). But the amount of political BS is way beyond what is present in the private sector. I could write a book about how things operate on the inside, but one would have to experience it to believe it. Suffice to say that I cannot stand being tied down by ridiculous, monotonous, useless, time-consuming, demeaning, mind-numbing procedures.
Do I sound a bit disgruntled? :)
