I am guessing Billie made up the graphic that I used for background. Actually, Dolly, that is one of ST.LOUIE1's creations. :-)

Arriving late again, but wanted to commend you both for the great essay and graphic presentation.
Temperature has cooled down to 90 degrees at 10:20 pm after reaching 107 late this afternoon. Gonna be 108 tomorrow and 109 on Sat. Thermostat broke so I had to hotwire it to operate the AC. Perspiration is rolling off like sweat, but it's still a lot easier to wipe the sweat off my brow than shoveling snow in the winter.

sorry I wasn't with you last night but my cable was out from late afternoon & was still out when I got back from birthday party. The rain was unbelievable - Lori, wish I could send you some of mine & Dave your heat sounds incredible!
We had a lot of flooding in the roads. My date had to find a way to get here as two of the three access roads to my area were flooded out & closed by police/fire depts. One of them washed out completely.
The birthday party was quite nice. The host couple is going through a bout of cancer again. He had & beat prostate & now is dealing with bone cancer. This time is is NOT going to do chemo or radiation but is going with the dietary route. They & three other couples all have summer homes on an Island in Maine. Of the 12 people there 7 of us were vegetarians! How often do you see that?
Is was not planned that way but the closest friends of the birthday boy (NOT a vegetarian) were invited & his brother/sil came from out of town.
Haven't read the news re: any damage etc but our infrastructure was just not equipped for so much rain so quickly. On the home front we have puddles (big ones)in kitchen & family room from I guess, roof tiling off & leaks.

Giants Of The Deep
LISTEN TO ODB RADIO: Real | MP3 | WMA

READ:
Job 41:1-11God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves. Genesis 1:21
The blue whale is the largest animal that has ever lived. Some are 100 feet long and can weigh over 175 tons. The biggest one ever measured had a heart the size of a Volkswagen!
In Genesis we are told, God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind (1:21).
When the Creator revealed Himself to Job in his time of suffering, He used the giants of the deep, including the mysterious Leviathan, to illustrate His divine power, His unsearchable nature and incomparable character.
Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of [Leviathan]? No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me? . . . Everything under heaven is Mine (Job 41:9-11).
God uses the whale, the Leviathan, and all the giants of the deep to remind us of how awesome He is as Creator of the universe (Romans 1:20). The One who made creatures that cannot be controlled is Himself beyond our control and understanding.
Just as a frightening thunderstorm makes us stand in awe of the Creator, so should the blue whale. All of Gods creation points to His eternal power. Dennis Fisher
Great is the Lord, He is holy and just;
By His power we trust in His love.
Great is the Lord, He is faithful and true;
By His mercy He proves He is love. Smith

Thank you for posting little Molly's picture. It was lovely to see her face. She died last year. We think it was a stroke. I was holding her when it happened.

I am so very sorry. We really get attached to these little furry friends. I really still miss Oliver tremendously & it has been 6 months.

Sorry to be getting here so late, have been down at the hospital in Atlanta where my mom had a pacemaker put in. Everything is fine now although there were some complications.
Enjoyable read as usual JH2.
Dolly, I like the graphics and the new font but the italics were a little hard for me to read in that font style - or it could just be my weak eyes.
