There certainly were a lot of wrecks according to the lap by lap on BGN.
I wondered during qualifying interviews why Mad Dog said they were not going to the backup car. I'm sure they have a great one considering the money Rusty puts into this team including the warwagon you describe. How did the 71 year old driver Hylton do?
From the other board that follows Nascar that's easier for my computer to load than this thread, I read that Yay Yay spun out Harvick resulting in the Navy team getting wrecked. We're still awaiting a report on McFarland who seemed to be favoring his wrist as he got into the ambulance. Jr can't afford for his driver to be hurt since he already has his own DEI Busch ride next week at Daytona........WooHoo Daytona!!!!
Sounds like you had a good spot to see both the pits and the race on the big screen TV. I'm glad the weather held out. Did it ever rain? Did you catch up with Herm?
I'm wondering if the 29 will be ok Sunday after that long flight back and forth across half the country. He didn't practice in Happy Hour at all. There is a new car for JJ and Fellows which are setup and built like the LeMans chassis somehow. They were having trouble getting it to turn yesterday so that should be interesting to watch.
I don't think anyone posted the Busch results, I can't get on the page anymore because of the large pictures. It's the pits living in the slow tech lane. :)
Harvick bounced off of Menard a couple times, and sure looked like he got loose before Yellers got to him. The pics of the Navy car on the wrecker didn't turn out as expected.
It drizzled a bit during qualifying; in fact, the drizzle at the start of qualifying helped me get to the tunnel as Stremme started qualifying. Didn't get to Herm, but I got him reacting to the crowd cheers when he got out of the car after qualifying.
Happy and Bow-wow not doing Happy Hour was by design; it got them here in time for qualifying. The rest of the long-distance Buschwhackers had their backup drivers qualify, including Aric Almirola putting the Rockwell #20 on the pole.
