And we thought Nextel was bad........

I also read that all 3 Nascar marketing guys within Nextel are gone.

*******
Bank of America Cup? When word of the shake-up [Nextel personnel] first broke in April, Sprint executives insisted they were committed to continuing the NASCAR sponsorship, despite reports otherwise that the new powers were less than interested in NASCAR. Now, according to sources familiar with the situation, there are reports that Bank of America executives are interested in acquiring the title sponsorship to the Cup series.(Winston Salem Journal)(6-26-2006)

Tork is Deeply Disappointed that they took 10 points away from him and dropped him from 11th to 12th and also took his high score of the day. :(

I just heard that Redding and Red Bluff hit 117 degrees yesterday while Eureka had brilliant sunshine and in the high 60s. I missed the first half of the race because we were touring home gardens that were open for the annual HBGF fund raiser.

I must over come my fear of digital cameras. We have thick fog this morning which is common when the temps hit 100+ in the valley

You definitely need a digital camera. Since you live in such a beautiful & COOL area, we would enjoy pics!!

BTW.....before I jump out of here, another rumor courtesy of Jayski.

Marco Andretti to Ganassi...in Cup? not much to report...but on the Fox Sports pre-race show at Sonoma, it was just mentioned in their news of the week, IRL driver Marco Andretti could be headed to Ganassi Racing as the driver of one of the three cars?(6-25-2006)

WCG, well that race was a bummer...if your a Dale xx fan!

wow.

Cool that Terry L did good!

Article said that DJ spun out or was spun out, after the fuel only pit to gain position. I don't recall hearing / seeing anything.

Not that it mattered much after the close encounter with Reed S and Yea Yea Yealy. ouch.

Seems that Jr's luck was not much better. :(

I'll be happy if DJ runs in the <20 next week! It has got to get better!

And I'm sure lots of folks are going to get familiar with looking at the rear end of Dale Jr's car!

I missed DJ's spin, not sure what happened to him. It seems to me his heart isn't with the 88 team any longer.....he's probably looking forward to his next ride in hopefully a good car.

Jr actually ran the fastest lap of anyone Sunday.....but after he got hit the car was never the same.

Now............here's some excellent news.........

If everything goes according to schedule, fans arriving early for Saturday's Pepsi 400 at Daytona could see one of the greatest "flyovers" of all time.

NASA is scheduled to launch the space shuttle Discovery at 3:48 p.m.

Saturday from Cape Canaveral, which is just down the coast from Daytona. The track will offer a spectacular view if the weather cooperates and the launch goes off.
