500 chem weapons warheads??? Yawn, don't care unless it's at least 50,000.... /sarcasm
Get ready, the libs will assess whether this information is being widely disseminated and noticed by the public. If they sense that their house of cards is collapsing with the public's perceptions, expect the most intense, vicious, and depraved propaganda campaign we have yet seen. I anticipate they will attack on at least 3 fronts: (1) disparage the info as still not very significant "old news, old weapons, degraded chemicals".... etc. (2) still not the "mushroom cloud" the WH said we should worry about; (3) this info must have been withheld and then released now for political purposes (with no explanation of why the WH wouldn't have wanted all possible evidence available for the 2004 campaign if they were thinking and behaving in political ways on this).
The circus has just begun, get ready for the fireworks!
Thanks for the ping!
Santorum--on why such a late release:
"Some will claim that the release is strictly for political purposes. They may have a point, but I doubt it will have anything to do with domestic politics. If Bush wanted to use it for that, he would have done so in October 2004 and not in June 2006. This information changes the picture about our pre-war intelligence in time for the Iranian confrontation -- and I suspect that the White House wants to declassify it in order to convince European leaders that our intel actually paid off. . . .
So why keep this quiet? Perhaps CENTCOM did not want to tip the AQ-I forces to their continued existence. Another explanation may have been that some of this got captured through active intel sources that would have blown continuing operations. Obviously the Intelligence Committee felt that the need for secrecy had passed."
BUMP!!!
