All Iraqis are permitted to have an AK-47 with one magazine of ammunition. Many Iraqis, though, have much more than a mere 30 rounds. Iraq is considered to be one of the most heavily-armed countries in the world, in terms in citizen gun ownership.

A post above said they may carry concealed pistols. Apparently this is not being done or the 80 would have not been rounded up.
