Ann Coulter has it right on the widows of 9/11
Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | 06/21/2006 | By Alan Caruba

It's embarrassing that two New Jersey Democrats, Assemblywoman Joan Quigley of Jersey City and Assemblywoman Linda Stender of Scotch Plains, are calling on bookstores in the state not to sell Ann Coulter's new book.

One wonders whether Quigley and Stender have heard of Amazon.com or are aware that Coulter's book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, is on its way to becoming a best-seller just like her previous diatribes against liberalism?

Coulter may be motivated by "her desire to sell books," as our astute assemblywomen surmised, but she is hardly the personification of evil.

Defending Coulter, who also has come under attack from Sen. Hillary Clinton (D., N.Y.) and Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D., N.J.), is an oxymoron.

She is the last person who needs to be defended, given that she is a lawyer who presumably can defend herself and possesses a frightening intellect and wit.

While promoting her book on television recently, Coulter made reference to a group of New Jersey women whose husbands were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center.

Coulter noted, as she does in her book, that these "Jersey Girls," after receiving huge amounts in compensation for their losses, then went public blaming President Bush for having failed to anticipate and prevent the 9/11 attacks.

The mainstream media made much of them while ignoring some very key factors that undermined their views. Coulter, of course, did not.

Noticeably missing from the initial press reports was any mention of what Coulter actually wrote:

"The 9/11 Commission was a scam and a fraud, the sole purpose of which was to cover up the disasters of the Clinton administration and distract the nation's leaders during wartime. Not only did the Jersey Girls claim credit for this Clinton whitewash machine, they spent most of the hearings denouncing the Bush administration for not stopping the 9/11 attacks from the weak position handed it by the Clinton administration."

The gist of what Kristen Breitweiser, Lorie Van Auken, Mindy Kleinberg and Patty Casazza claimed was that an August 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing should have alerted Bush to order immediate action to prevent 9/11.

Coulter notes in her book that "all the information about bin Laden in the August PDB comes from the nineties. Not one fact in the PDB is more recent than 1999."

I grant you Coulter takes no prisoners when she writes.

"Mostly the witches of East Brunswick wanted George Bush to apologize for not being Bill Clinton," was her take on the Jersey Girls, but "the rest of the nation was more interested in knowing why the FBI was prevented from being given intelligence about 9/11 terrorists here in the United States more than a year before the attack..."

The answer - well-known by now - is that Clinton's deputy attorney general, Jamie Gorelick, "had specifically prohibited intelligence agents from telling law enforcement agents about suspected terrorists in the country."

And whom did the Democrats put on the 9/11 Commission? Jamie Gorelick.

So what we are seeing in the denunciations by members of the U.S. Senate and now the New Jersey Assembly represents more than a fair amount of partisanship.

Coulter has done a very good job of documenting her case. If some Jersey Girls get a public spanking in the process, so be it.

Well ... when can we expect the book burning rallies in NJ?

Sure, Bush could have prevented 9-11. Just shut down the airline industry. Don't allow Muslim men to travel. Abandon all buildings that cannot be evacuated by a Pierce Dash 105".
Establish a 100 yd "Kill Zone" around all Federal, State and Municipal property. Oh, and get out of the Middle East, disolve Isreal and convert to Islam. See how easy that was Jersy Girls?

That picture really is lame. Besides, I find her real body to be more appealing -- probably because it's actually attached to her brilliant head.

Just wish Ann and others would link Cindy Shee-it with the Jersey Girls too - she is in the same category - and that would catch the attention of many more folk - "Oh, yeah! Using the veil of victim-hood to spew anti-American propaganda.

There's a whole chapter on this subject! Besides, Sheehan and the Jersey Girls, Murtha, Kennedy, Inouye (sp), and Max Cleland are documented to be untouchable spokesman for the left.

The conclusion of the chapter is brilliant. I paraphrase: If the left has any good points to make, why don't they make those points with speakers we're allowed to debate with.

You may be interested in going to the author's website. He has a 4-part series on The Subversion of Education in America that is very interesting.

In this website, the author relates and relies heavily upon the activism and writings of Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt.

During the 80's, I had an organization : "Families for Freedom", and networked with other state/national organizations - including "Eagle Forum" - I lived only a few miles from Charlotte and we worked closely together - burned up the roads to the state capitol and to DC, fighting these hard core socialists who were/are taking over our schools and intruding into our families - with the intent of making our children the property of the state, reducing parents to mere caretakers...etc etc.

Charlotte, in particular, was the target of hate and attack from the socialist/democrats who are determined to turn this country over to socialism.

Her book, cited in the website, outlines every jot and tittle of our enemies and their operation. It will shock even those oh you who think you know what and who they are, what they have done and what they plan. Charlotte has dedicated her life to this - her kitchen table, dining room table, etc - was always covered with materials and our latest defense strategies against the tactics of the very real enemies of this country. She has lived under communist/socialist regimes and knows the steps that lead to such.

You can also access her site and read her book as a free E-book.

Warning: it will send a chill up your spine.

Yep, the Clintonistas took money out of Washington by the wheelbarrow load. Now they live on estates in the Va hunt country, a newly minted landed gentry. I guess that Hillary means for common thieves when she says for the common good.

Relax, folks. This is all just a PR campaign. It was probably the book publicist who picked the most controversial words to get publicity. That's the only way I see media and politicians jumping in all on the same page.

> but as far as I know, they are exercising political dissent.

Of course they are, and they have every right to do so.

So does Ann.

The difference is that the Dims are playing a propaganda game by using their tragedy to hold them up as "unassailable designated victim"

The reason the Dims are really mad, is that little trick isn't going to work so well any more.

I read Godless, and the chapter on with the Jersey girls was mild compared with the blistering chapter on school teachers.

I am amazed that has not become the issue, but then again, had teachers become the issue of choice from this book, the NEA would have to answer for it.
(and we all know that's not gonna happen)

why that anger wasn't directed at THOSE WHO KILLED THEIR SPOUSES

And they were planning the details of the murder during Clinton's watch.

The Philadelphia Inquirer actually criticizing liberals.

Their circulation must be in the tank. If the paper will start taking sensible stands on the issues, people might start subscribing again.

Good read, and this was in the Philladelphia Inquirer! Did this rag get a change in ownership?

Ownership did change, but they made all of the Republican owners promise that they would keep the paper liberal (in essence).

The Stinquirer prints a conservative opinion once every month or so, so that they can try to say "see, we are balanced".

Just like they endorse every DemocRat in the area, except for a few Republican safe seats.

COULTER: I understand you had an Ann Coulter joke last night, Jay.
LENO: Oh, I have a bunch of Ann Coulter jokes all the time.
COULTER: That I was worried about Dorothy's house falling on me.
LENO: I think that was the joke, yeah. And then, I had the -- the other joke was I liked you fighting Sigourney Weaver in the Alien. I think that was the other movie I did.

The reason the Dims are really mad, is that little trick isn't going to work so well any more.

When Max Cleland went to Texas hoping to personally confront Bush I only wish the GOP had arranged for a one limb vet to be there to receive. I think that would have exposed Dem strategy far in advance of Ann's book
