It says right in the article that "Dissenters are mocked on ALA mailing lists and conference events." That means there ARE dissentors, but they are censored by the ALA moonbats who love to scream "censorship".

Now Mr. Rosenzweig, what have we told you about run on sentences? The guy must be channelling William Faulkner.

He heads a hard-core faction of library-dwelling radicals who are apologists for Fidel Castro ("I don't think [Cuba] is a dictatorship. It's a republic," Rosenzweig has said). He doesn't even pretend to have a shred of intelligence. Amazing given that he's surrounded by books...but then again, the article did state they were Marxist books. Further evidence that you are what you eat..if you "eat" books that teach stupidity you are stupid.

More like a run-on-and-on-and-on sentence. Hmmm, almost content-free too, like most leftist rants.

Not sure if this is a reflection of the politics at my hometown library- but whenever I try to offer up a brand new bestseller on Hillary in a bad light they say they will take it only for their book drive- they don't need it for the shelves. Then I can't find any copies!!! I no longer use the library- I visit Amazon.com for myself- BTW- this is an 80% Republican zone. Maybe not in the library though.

The last time I went to our local library,I had to use a computer as mine was down. The person prior to my usage had not logged out. What I saw was pornographic gay images!Of the local gay network!I was appalled,as I knew some of them personally.Blech!I was under the naive impression that such things had been filtered out. Some people just don't get the fact that quite a few people find that behavior repulsive.Call it gay bashing, but I don't have to like it.That is why I live in America.I switched computers,as I did not want to be connected in any way to that sort of nonsense.

This is an example of the much vaunted dissent. Like oil which spills from a wrecked tanker it spreads everywhere covering over and suffocating everything and everyone with the same slick, shiny goo. It sticks together the feathers of birds so they cannot fly and hitchhikes on the soles of everyone's shoes, so that they track it everywhere. But it does absolutely no good, at all.

I have been a librarian and I have been a poet. When it comes to politics these two groups vie for honors as the most nutty, self-absorbed, idiotic interest group in creation.

Michele Malkin:
Please review SafeLibraries.org and consider helping us to spread the truth, in our opinion until a court proves it, that the ALA is sexualizing children by claiming it is age discrimination to keep them from any material. And worse, they are doing this despite what the US Supreme Court said in the case the ALA itself lost and lost big, namely,
US v. ALA.
Regarding the ALA's position, remember how it condemned Israel for supposedly destroying so-called Palestinian libraries when they did not, and they took no position when a Palestinian terrorist blew up an Isreali university library -- even an AMERICAN being killed there provoked no response from the ALA. Not surprising considering how the ALA bemoaned a Florida librarian who turned in a 9/11 terrorist post 9/11 because the terrorist who killed thousands of Americans had rights to privacy. (See
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Judith_Krug.)
Now, the terrorists have almost hit an Israeli library and the ALA has so far be silent. See Freeper thread
Qassam lands near Sderot library, 2 suffer from shock and comments therein.
Michelle Malkin, please consider helping us to inform more people about the truth about the ALA.
Thank you.

Thank you for the ping. I'm happy to be able to write here and have people like you thinking of me. Michelle Malkin is outstanding besides. Thanks again.

Some people like low pay, long quiet hours and being able to shush other people.
But, as others have said, the library is more a museum than a facility anymore.
I just go onto Amazon and buy the thing, if I really want to read it. My wife gets good use of the library in town, but then she's into reading the drivel of the left (gotta know what the enemy is thinking if you're going to try to figure what they'll think next).

I've noticed that the smarter a person thinks they are, the more words they have to use to try to get their point across. God, that hurts to read.
