You can pray to soften my heart as much as you want but the Bible is very specific in who is allowed into heaven. Only those that accept God and abide as best they can by his laws.

Right. But God set the original defination. Christ then clarified the rule.

The original statement from "Statshiu" was that there were many ways to God. There was only one way and that was to accept him (and later) by way of Jesus.

ie. Just being a good person does not get you into heaven.
