Why Democrats Will Lose Again in ‘06'

Actions still mean more than words

I must admit that I do laugh every time I hear modern day socialists refer to themselves as “progressives,” as if their alleged interest in so-called “progress” is supposed to demonstrate some sort of advanced intelligence or heightened enlightenment or unusually keen sense of awareness and compassion. That's a tough sell for folks who still think the failed socialist principles of the past represent some kind of “progress” for our future, an idea that qualifies these folks for kinder-care, not national leadership.

Not all Democrats are self-styled “progressives” (socialists) of course, but all current leaders of the Democratic Party are, including Clinton, Reid, Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Durbin, Dean, Murtha, Obama, and many more. A few Republicans qualify as “progressives” today, too: McCain, Hagel, Specter, Lugar, Chafee, and others. Even the ole compassionate conservative himself, George W. Bush is “progressive” on matters like illegal immigration, globalization, and his kinder-gentler war plan, designed not to offend our enemy. They call themselves “progressive” as in “seeking progress,” but their actions are purely socialist and most Americans know that there is nothing “progressive” about socialism.

Frankly, modern day socialists own and operate the American press too, from boardroom to anchor desk and everywhere in between. The current low approval ratings apply to the president, Congress, and the press. In fact, the unpopular president fares better in most polls than the even less popular Congress or press. As a result, the average red-blooded American still stuck on truth, honor, freedom, liberty, and the capitalist American way, are left looking for the “none of the above” box on every election ballot and searching the Internet for the truth they can no longer find in lamestream headlines.

The dictionary definition of "gay" is "happy"...

The dictionary definition of "Marriage" includes only one man and one woman, or two bottle of ketsup.... LOL

Guess who writes and updates the dictionary?

I knew one "progressive" here at work who talked about listening to his 'socialy responsible programs' on Pacifica and Public Radio.

It made me gag....he is a heck of nice guy but all messed up. He thinks dumping other peoples money on social problems fixes them...makes them better. He can not get past the notion that if you give away money, it has the opposite effect on the taker. It makes them weak, useless and shiftless.

'Progressives' are so not progressive, as to make the concept laughable.

Ah, yes the Progressives. I like to say that Kansans come by our right-wing credentials honestly: Kansas is the only place in the US where the hard left came to power, and after the 1890's when Kansans saw what it was like, they haven't wanted anything to do with them since.

The Progressives (no quotes here, it was the party name) actually instituted mandatory coursed in Marxist political economy at the Kansas State College of Agriculture and the Mechanical Arts (now Kansas State University). And it took a combination of force and a Kansas Supreme Court decision to seat the duely elected Republican majority in the House during the session when the Progressives controlled the Senate and Governorship (look up the Legislative War of 1893--a great piece of Kansas history).

Globalization is a completely "socialist" notion, pushed for decades by Clinton and the EU via the UN.... The spread of capitalist opportunities is a natural "temporary" bi-product of the movement. Watch as capitalism is used by communist China to fill the bank accounts of NOT the average citizen, but their military complex.... Same in North Korea...

Get to the BIG picture and keep your eye on the ball. Don't fall for the leftist propaganda that it is evil corporate greed and capitalism behind globalization. There will be profiteering, but it is NOT the moving force behind erasing our borders....

The ONLY way I would support a national sales tax is if it was done like state sales tax. That is, it is attached to sales regardless of who you are or how much money you make. They will not even have a need to know your income level.

Simple, cheap, fair. The more you spend, the more tax you pay, exactly proportionate to your spending.

It will never fly, of course, because when you tax a thing, you incent people to decrease the activity. Decreasing spending in an already tenuous economy is a bad thing.

And when the RATS lose the '06 election they will scream, "election fraud".

Yup!!!! They have already have the script written. They have blanks for the names of States and/or local areas to attack. Idiots! Don't forget the friendly judges are preselected and legal complaints are also in the ready with the same blanks.

John Cox's national sales tax would be the kind that you would support. In his book, Politic$, Inc., he states, "The national sales tax is just that; a tax on sales. It is collected like most states collect sales taxes. In fact, most proposals have the states doing the work, so bye bye, IRS."

The Republicans deserve to lose, but the Democrats don't deserve to win.

This one of those statements that everyone will quote because it's clever. Problem is, the blanket statement about republicans deserving to lose is wrong.

To give credit where credit is due: The conservative republicans in the house of representatives deserve to win, and about 30 conservative republicans in the senate also deserve to win.

The rats and the rino's deserve to lose.

Yes, but did you see my comments on why it would never fly? And you bring up another reason - the MASSIVE AND POLITICALLY POWERFUL industry that has grown to depend on our tax system. It is like an impenetrable shell protecting it.

Our country will have to collapse as a nation before you will see the kind of sales tax we are talking about. It would take an act of God, quite literally.

The trouble is that a lot of nose cutter offers plan on voting against conservatives to "punish" RINOs.

Just goes to show that the rats don't have a lock on the inability to think with more than two brain cells.

The trouble is that a lot of folks plan on voting against conservatives to "punish" RINOs. The Santorum/Specter situation comes to mind.

A few high profile GOP losses might wake the 'Progressive Republicans' out of their slumber. The non vote on protecting marriage tells us what we all know and that's that the GOP is bought and paid for by the progressive lobby.

Don't overlook the current dem effort to abolish (or make impotent) the electoral college system, replacing our representative republic with a mob ruled democracy...

Several states have pending legislation as we speak...
