Rather told the New York Times that he is considering an offer from Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to do a weekly news program for Cuban's HDNet cable channel."
Great. Now he can try to lie about basketball scores.

Did Dan get on top of a grand piano by any chance and sing "Thanks for the Memories"....?

No, but he did turn America's most trusted news program, The CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite, into 30 minutes of here-say and innuendos once he took over as the anchor.

I have no love for either Dan Blather or SeeBS, but SeeBS has a long history of treating its best assets in the same shabby way.
They have done the same thing to many of their "stars", going back to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

Rather has repeatedly apologized for his role in the story and expressed regrets about the fate of his colleagues. When? He said he believed his story.

Rather wrote the script for broadcast journalism!!! Was it Faxed to him from a Kinkos? Nothing like McManus trashing a whole profession.

# Feb. 24, 2003: Gets the most sought-after interview in the world: an exclusive one-on-one with Saddam Hussein in Baghdad, the first time the Iraqi leader talks with an American journalist since 1991. # March 9, 2005: Rather steps down as anchor of the CBS Evening News.
CBS seems to have forgotten something between these two dates!!!
# October, 2004: In an effort to affect the outcome of the 2004 Presidential election, Rather airs a report on 60 Minutes II on President George W. Bush's National Guard service. The story featured blatantly forged documents provided by a former Guardsman with a political agenda who had been in touch with the Kerry campaign. Rather steadfastly refuses to admit that analysis of the documents done by the new Internet media had uncovered the poor forgery, and even stood by the now discredited story prompting the catchphrase "Fake but accurate."
There. Fixed.

Dan can report the scores before they happen. After all Mark Cuban says it is rigged.

Cronkite lied and distorted every bit as much as Rather. It's just that Uncle Walter was a far better lier than Guga Dan. Cronkite was a master propagandist. Rather is just a media buffoon.
