These guys were NOT "captured". We know that the military tells them to fight to the end, don't surrender, or be captured. They know what will happen to them IF captured. THESE GUYS WERE HEROS WHO FOUGHT TO THE END. THEIR BODIES WERE DESICRATED AFTER THEY WERE DEAD SO THE ENEMY COULD CLAIM "CAPTURE".

We all would prefer your scenario true, but it's probably not.
