You're absolutely correct. The sooner we dissuade ourselves from the delusion that the islamists are "yearning to be free" the better off we'll be. There is no freedom, as we know it, among people who believe they can attain eternal pleasure only if they do what some half-baked mullah tells them to do, no matter how perverted or sick that is.
I'm not against foreign intervention if it increases the security of the U.S.A. or even to protect innocents from outside aggression, but I don't want American men and women to die to save foreigners from themselves.

I know much more then you assume about both - And yes, both the values of freedom and self-worth are indeed spreading on the ground throughout Iraq and Stan (and in the end they will be our two biggest allies in this WOT...this war against radical Islam).
